  • Junior Research Fellow --- opening
  • Virtual National Oral Cancer Initiative - “Study of oral cancer stem cells using various ‘omics’ platforms”

    Applications are invited for one (1) Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the above mentioned DBT sponsored, purely time - bound research project, undertaken jointly in the Department of Molecular Reproduction and Development Genetics and the Department of Computational and Data Sciences under the project investigators Prof. Annapoorni Rangarajan and Prof. Debnath Pal.

    Three years. The appointment will be on temporary basis and renewed from time to time based on performance.

    Nature of work: Metabolomics study of oral cancer stem cells. Sample preparation for Mass Spectrometry and NMR Metabolomics study, data acquisition, analysis and modelling.

    Essential Qualification(s):
    First Class Master’s Degree in any area of Science and Engineering with strong proficiency and knowledge in biophysical techniques, primarily Mass Spectrometry, and relevant sample preparation, data analysis and modelling methods. Computer programming knowledge is desirable, but not essential. Candidates with NET/GATE qualification and research experience in relevant areas will be preferred. Candidates should have strong interest in pursuing a research career.

    Emoluments: Rs. 25,000+HRA for candidates who have passed National Exams; Reduced emoluments of Rs 18, 200 for other candidates as per government norms.

Preference will be given to the candidates whoever having CSIR/UGC/NET, prior experience with Mass Spectrometry, NMR and biophysical techniques, knowledge in metabolomics data analysis, biological sample preparations.
