The AvH Association Bangalore was founded on March 11, 2004 with the aim to bring together the alumni of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany residing in the state of Karnataka. Currently there are more than 86 alumni in the state of which 30 are member of the AvH Association Bangalore. The association is constantly endeavoring to bring more alumni to its fold and expand its activities. Several events are undertaken round the year to facilitate interaction among the alumni. The association actively promotes popularization of science in the state. The alumnus visits local schools and colleges to deliver lectures on basic science and engineering topics. German scientists are also hosted for bilateral visits to promote science and education. All the activities are generously supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany. German establishments in Karnataka, such as the Max Mueller Bhavan, German Consulate provide active encouragement to the association’s activities.
